Description
One of the joys of our visits to Kansas is seeing our twin grandsons. Liam and Xander turned six years old in January.

I'll be in your gallery more than one session, but I wanted to do some this morning since it's been a while since I've actually commented 'on site'. Your candid/portraits are so often mixtures of true candid moments with a sense of introspective portraiture. (Ie, you get both in the same shots.) Xander, here, looks in the middle of saying something, but he also looks lost in some moment or thought, as does Liam in the previous (equally beautiful) shot. This shot is bathed in light, compared to the darker shadows of Liam's shot; and Xander glows in it. I like that you give only his head, with enough of his shirt to add to the real light here. You've captured/brought out the reds in his color, and they're delicate and beautiful. And the side composition---where he's framed, on the left, by that bright background light---makes fine balance with the darker tones of the right side. Darker relatively speaking, since this is all in light tones...A bright, very loving shot, with undertones of introspection. (Like the 'notes' in Andrea's perfumes, or in fine cognacs.) And though candid, it feels like a thoughtful portrait at the same time. Highly caring work, Tara! (And "Xander" is a most unusual name---historically from "Alexander"...but parents, of course, may name a child for all kinds of reasons having nothing to do with historical root names or anything like that. It's a beautiful name.)
