Was the world not a more beautiful place before mass production came about? I love the beautiful Character of this wood door . The shadow in the entry leaves a wonderful mystery . Fantastic capture
My brother in Germany was a carpenter and I will always remember the beautiful work he created, just by looking at this amazing panel work on this door ... I do love all those different shapes/sizes of squares and rectangles in one design and not to forget the aged look of wood, amongst the fading colours and the levels of deterioration on the wall behind - it makes a great contrast. BB

I love the way you take an ordinary object and find the deep mysterious side of it. I just want to know what's in there now.
There is a tension between the rich warmth of the wood and the potentiall chill of the unknown in the dark . But that wall! It's really all about the wall!
This has the feel of a monk's cell. Brings to mind a song by Loreena McKennitt. "O light the candle John The daylight is almost gone The birds have sung their last The bells call all to mass"
