Beautiful capture Tara

Nice shot, Tara. Arlene & I have only been to Joshua Tree once, many years ago, before it became a national park (it was a national monument back then). The week before we went, we saw a documentary about people mysteriously disappearing there & never being heard from again. When we got there, there was only one other vehicle - a van - & a couple of guys hanging around it who looked kind of creepy. We felt very paranoid & decided to turn around & hit the road (we were traveling with my young son & his friend & were on our way to Arizona). It looks very bright & cheerful in your photo, but that's not at all the way I remember it...

This IS the quintessential foto of a Joshua tree. They are so unique and your shot shows them so well. The boulders are the perfect backdrop!!

And they are sharp! A wonderful setting. Great composition.

A beautiful landscape capture!!

Whenever I think of boulders I see them in my mind, somewhere ready to tumble off a cliff! This is a lovely scene, Tara! What a fantastic capture of the clear blue sky in the background! Excellent image and subject!

What a wonderful, clear shot full of color and detail! This is excellent, Tara! Of course, looking at those boulders is making my left side hurt....... (still dealing with that #%&%$ kidney stone...) LOL

I so very much love the landscpe of this area and this shot is such and excellent representation of the folige and colors found there.

I can't tell you how many times I've driven through this landscape at all times of day and night; it's always mesmerizing. Yes, this is the classic scene, and those rounded boulders look very soft but they aren't really ;) Beautifully captured!

Yes indeed, it is as if the stones can speak, and say to each passer by : "hey listen I've to tell you a story, did you know what I saw...., what happens ..........."? And what a fantastic view some of the stones have. The Joshua Tree looks as a very happy friend of that large stone-group (ha, The Stones). To make it short, it's a wonderful photo, and place, my friend!

I didn't even know there 'was' a Joshua Tree until this upload. I looked it up. Apparently some Mormons thought these trees looked like the Biblical Joshua holding his arms up to heaven...well that was a first for me. But the image...your crop is superb, you capsulated not just the tree, but its relation to those wonderful rocks. You captured their "speech"---I see Mies felt their speech too---like they're trying to say something, or act something out in mime. Beautiful shadows on the rocks too. And your sky is clear as can be...if you aided that, you did it beautifully, Tara: It sets off the articulate stones and tree beautifully. A beautiful coupling of tree and stone, and you take to these landscapes with total ease. Great crop too. But I already said that---it's the first thing that hit me. Beautiful capture.
