Description
We have not seen our old neighbor for the entire winter. We thought that he had moved to a warmer area. He was not happy that I caught him out on the grass catching some sun. He saw me, snapped this photo and he was in the water swimming away. He is an Iguana and is about 3 feet long (almost a meter). Do zoom.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Wonderful capture of this fine fellow!
He reminds me of Godzilla!
Well camouflaged, but he certainly has his eye on you and ... I do like the way he flares his nostrils, the leaves look almost like green flames, coming out of them ... watch out! My guess it's an Iguana ? a nice visitor to have around ;)) BB
guess who's been playing in the algae again ! LOL Just like a mini Dinosaur, now if you can just teach it to nibble your grass, you will never need to mow again ! Well done & ~Cheers~
beautiful lizard and a superb photo

WOW!! that is one great lizard.. very nice shot Dana.. and yes it is best zoomed :)
He’s beautiful – a really great capture my friend!!!
An interesting neighbor you have. Superb capture, even if he did not leave you much time to take a picture.
He looks rather wise . I should love to have reptiles like this in my garden, although I dare say he might flatten the flowers.
He would be eating your flowers!!!!!
He would be very welcome in my garden but I think he would need a big thick jumper it's sunny but cold. Nice shot.
I love these guys but I guess it might be different if we were overrun with them. Nice pic Dana.
A very beautiful and amazing neighbor indeed, excellent capture, Dana!

GREAT CAPTURE
fantastic capture
He's a very handsome fellow; excellent capture!!
Fantastic capture!
Wow! he is quite a good size. In many places he would be considered a good meal. When I was a teenager I took a trip to Mexico with my Spanish class. During on of the bus rides we stopped at the side of the road where a few people were selling things. One old woman had an iguana draped over her head like a hat. It was alive, but seemed to be content like that. When I asked my teacher if she was selling it as a pet he laughed and said she was selling it as a meal. Perhaps the iguana would not have been so happy on her head if he had known that! Thanks for sharing this great capture and bringing back old memories for me. :)
he has something majestic... superbly captured and I am glad he still live there;-)
