Description
Today is a momentous day.
In January 2004 I bought the 1993 960 on the right for £330, and it is still running, although with several funny little quirks like any old person.
Last month the 940 on the left happened for sale very locally. It is only a year younger, 1994, but has only done 157,000 miles, 100,000 less than the other. Only two owners.
It was rather expensive for me, £730!
Anyway, today is the day the insurance finishes on the 960.
I have been driving the old one because I had just filled up with petrol, which costs each time as much as the car is probably worth! We shall syphon out the remainder.
For those car anoraks out there: the new one is a Volvo Wentworth which I believe was originally a prize for a hole in one at that golf course! Some prize!

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
now you can be known as two Volvo Andrea
cool cars!
Congratulations. Volvo's are a very good car.
Plenty of room for those dogs of yours. Good luck with it.
Great shots Andrea Have fun with your new ride
A good purchase, may it be reliable and serve you well in the coming years.. I believe they are pretty reliable cars. I take it you are selling the old one soon?... try an avoid getting into the old one and driving off.. especially with no insurance!... old habits can die hard even with the new car beside it in the drive. last thing you want is a pull in the wrong car with no insurance. :-(

good job Andrea - you found your car and it will roll and roll and...for loooongtime
We have a volvo, I like it but I don't drive!!!
A Volvo is always a great car although a bit dated! Excellent capture! :)
They both look to be in great condition. Getting to know a new car is a little like bringing a new dog into the home with its own personality and quirks. Have fun.
Well done Andrea! Trustworhy Camera and Woofie carrier!
Quite good cars :)
Great buy so now the old ones a dog kennel.
Very nice POV, contrast and composition in this momentous snap, A. I still have my antique stick-shift Honda Accord LX that I purchased new in 1987 for 12,500 dollars. It has aged much better, with far fewer physical problems , than I have over the years.
Congratulations my friend - the Wentworth looks like new!
got good use out of the old one. good shot
May this one be as good for you as the last!
Congratulations...100,000 less miles...now you'll have to get all of your window stickers transferred:)
The right one looks much like the one my sister in law is still using with great pleasure. These volvos are lasting for a great while mostly, so good luck with your new vehicle :-)))))))))))
What a steal! You have excellent luck with your autos, Andrea!
My first new car was a 1966 Volvo 122S, which gave me excellent service for those times. Hope yours proves its equal!
