Description
We wandered through Hammond, Louisiana, yesterday with our friends who live in this area. This is the town Robert grew up in, and we had a great time walking around having him tell us what was the same and what was different from when he was a boy. There was a lot of art, both public and gallery, and most of the buildings have been around for more than a hundred years.
Hopefully this reflection shot gives you a feel for what the town is like.

Just like a trip down memory lane for some - now where was it ? aha, Louisiana ... no doubt, that one day I might get around to see it myself, wouldn't that be great, to check out all these historical places? and not to forget, being able to discover the beautiful art, which I can see now ... a nice touch and thought Tara, BB
Forget sight seeing!! It's Louisiana!!! find the food... they rock for food.
It has that comfortable look about it like my hometown, not too moden but not old either. Bournemouth too has a short history so one day we will look at it together!
At first glance, I though those eyes were a reflection - perhaps an optometrist's display across the street - but then I realized it was hanging in an art gallery. I like the multiple levels of possibilities that well-balanced reflection shots like this create, as if they were somehow visual metaphors for the multi-leveled nature of human perception...

LOL@wolfenshire... As always, so much to see in your photographs. Love it.
As said above, reflection shots have been one of your specialties for some time, and this is an example of why. Yes I can see the artwork in there (as Claude says, it comes to you after a moment of viewing), but they meld into the other side of the street, creating a kind of ad hoc collage of what this place is about. A montage created by light and by your eye, angle of viewing, intuition, etc. The cars create the 'ground' in this shot. And it's all washed over by a deep blue, like memory or inner reflection---even if this were taken in mid daylight. Evocative and quiet and reflective (in the inner sense), and another fine reflection shot from you, Tara. (I will come back for more, but I'm trying to keep it to 4 or 5 right now, so I can rest my wrist. But I've much enjoyed your visions from this part of the country, you seem to get the feel of the place very quickly. You're in a very magical part of the world right now, you and bill...)
