Outstanding composition. The reflections are so clear & smooth - almost glass-like. And I love the way that big tree on the right spreads out at it's base - it reminds me of certain Tiffany lamp bases...
Entrancing! It makes me wonder what lives in this beautiful wet place. It also reminds me of the time when Fritz set off after a deer into the wet wood and was gone for 20 minutes. When he finally returned he was completely black with mud and I was traumatised with worry!

Walked through places like this before. Not a pleasant experience. Even on the trail, not pleasant. Mosquitoes that can carry a small dog away.

A very layered moody capture of a very layered moody sight. The plants undulating in the water (and silt and whatever else creates those striations in the water) are harmonized by a strange almost imperceptible vertical element in the trees, like the whole piece is painted over in gentle horizontals. And there are certain predominating hues too, which unify all this growth and undergrowth. To me, this is filled with an "underneath" feeling---ie, we're under the peaks of the trees, "inside" the expanse of trees and water---so we feel like we're inside one's 'home', though this is a home of nature rather than brick, etc. A low, close-to-earth capture of an inner world, and you did it with sensitivity and a deep reverence for its sweep and quiet. Very sensitively done, Tara. You have taken to this part of the country with total ease...
