Description
The 'Sechserbruecke' or Tegeler Harbor Bridge spans the entrance to the Tegeler Harbor in Alt-Tegel, Bezirk Reinickendorf. The bridge was built in 1909 as a steel truss arch bridge, 91 m long, with stone tickets booths on either side.
People that strolled around this part of the Tegeler See on weekends to visit various restaurants and other establishments had to cross the Tegeler Fliess and the Tegeler Harbor. To cross the Harbor using the bridge they were charged 5 Pfennig, in the vernacular 'a sechser', hence the name. The toll was discontinued in 1923.

@illkirch. You are right. The toll takers wages increased faster, due to inflation, than the value of the toll! It was no longer profitable!
