Description
I have captured this beauty in the Kgalagadi on my recent visit. The Glossy Starling is found all over Southern Africa and can be real pests in the game reserves at camps and picnic spots. I have personally seen one steal bacon right off the grill in the Kruger Park.
Because water is so scarce in the Kgalagadi, they have built little brick/concrete "dams" under each water tap to catch any spilled water for the birds and other critters moving around in the camp.
Thank you for stopping by and for your very welcome comments and favs on my last upload "Don't Try Me".
Carin xx

Reminds me of my brother when we were young, he'd steal your bacon too LOL! Excellent shot of this pretty bird sweetie.

What a wonderful presentation, the color of this bird is amazing!!
So pretty, gorgeous capture!
EXCELLENT WORK
Stellar shot of the sleek starling as it surveys the territory for food, Carin. I get a kick out of the beady red eyes.
I thought this fellow looked familiar. I met its cousin, the Superb Starling, in Kenya. Super sharp capture.
What a beautiful bird.
I think these are so pretty; good thinking to build capture basins under the faucets, I'm sure the wildlife appreciates it! Marvelous shot!!
A sterling Starling photo!

I guess they clean up all the wrong things such as our lunch while we're still eating. Interesting bird... Aloha
Pretty bird, but I can see his "pest" tendencies! :P Beautiful shot!
