Description
This male lion and a friend was sleeping under the smallest tree in the park right next to the road. This was taken with a 200mm lens. :)
We were a little naughty by making clicking sounds to get their attention and this one got seriously irritated with us. He jumped up and eyeballed us like this for the longest of time. I must admit that his stare really intimidated me and made me feel uneasy being only about 4-5 meters away from him. (in the car of course but still) I truly expected him to show aggresion in some form. Luckily he did not.
Thank you for visiting my gallery and for the much appreciated comments and favs on my last upload "Kicking up Dust".

Exquisite image,
Awesome eye contact!! Fabulous capture! ;)
An amazing capture, his stare is really fascinating!!
LOL..I think he still looks a bit sleepy. thanks for sharing this fabulous capture.
Wow .. he looks at you directly. A superb shot!
Probably he showed aggression before to other vehicles and he realized that they're invincible :) Risky, but awesome shot!
What a look!
I agree, not the type of pussy cat to piss off hehehe!! Love this shot Carin. I like the flies all over him too, it tells us he was in the wild and not a cage.
Superb capture Carin. God bless.
Wonderful capture!!!
Fabulous carin, amazing capture. Xx
I never would try... gosh, what a face! very near Carin!!
Fantastic capture, Carin! :)
Splendid capture of the big guy, looking most irritated, and giving you the evil eye, after you coaxed him out of his peaceful repose, Dierbaar. "Nice kitty" didn't work in this instance, I fear. Good you used the 200mm lens, which gave you enough distance and time to run for your lives.
You will often see this look on the faces of Italian-American men from New York and New Jersey. It says "Hey, you want a piece of me?" Best to move in the opposite direction. Awesome capture. Next time use a 400mm lens!
Wow his face scare me too, you are so proud to shot this picture, thanks to share this beauty of nature! :0)
Very nice capture glad you were in the vehicle
A seriously intimidating look, that's for sure. But my house cats can look like this one second and the next be rolling on their backs for tummy rubs, so who knows for sure? But I guess I wouldn't try him...great capture!
Ahhhh, I'll stay here if he'll stay there! I am duly intimidated!
A beauty of a shot Carin and he looks as if he won't take any prisoners.
Well I for one would not mess with him !! snakes no problem but he is way too big :) great shot Carin
I wonder if this is what my co-workers saw in the morning before I'd had my coffee! LOL! (I'm a bit grumpy before about 9:30 or 10:00 in the morning.) A fabulous capture!
Good shot!!
Fantastic capture and I can imagine his challenging stare was very intimidating.
what a stare!! awesome 'catch'!!! (no one goes before his/her time? ;-D)
it could be his "ok, take the damn picture and let me get back to sleep" look as well :)
Those pin-point eyeballs would have intimidated me too! A super photo my friend!
