That is so funny, When I viewed yesterday's post I thought to myself, "Too bad he did not want to see the gnarly maple because I would've liked to see more detail on that." Now here it is in all it's gorgeous array with the artistic twists and turns of the trunk and branches in full view. Thanks for sharing. :)

Wow! Jeff, thank you for posting this. This looks like a tree that stories or legends could be written about - a kind of giant bonsai that has been twisted & contorted into amazing shapes. Honestly, I've never heard of acer trees - I always have known them by their common name of maple. I have one very small Japanese maple & I like it a lot, but it's a pipsqueak compared to this magnificent specimen. An outstanding shot of it & thanks again for being so obliging...

What a glorious backside! This is wonderful. I love trees with gnarly branches anyway, and these black, shiny branches against the red leaves is spectacular. Beautiful light, color, and detail. Excellent capture!
