Description
Zoom worthy.
The sky was leaden, the weather was miserable, the road was precipitous but we did get this big view of Crater Lake in the National Park by the same name.
Wiki note: Crater Lake is a caldera lake in the western United States, located in south-central Oregon. It is the main feature of Crater Lake National Park and is famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. The lake partly fills a nearly 2,148-foot (655 m)-deep caldera that was formed around 7,700 years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama.

it is really a great shot!!
Well done Bill. Very nice. :-)
An outstanding landscape - you manged to get both ends of the lake into your panorama in a very appealing composition...
This has a very painterly feel to it bud.
outstanding panorama of the lovely feature of nature
Wonderful ambience in this capture, Bill.
ditto the other comments..thanks for sharing :)
this is very lovely to look at
An amazing shot, Bill, despite the less than ideal weather! This place is definitely on my bucket list - someday...
Oh man, I'm freezing cold just looking at this picture! The wind wasn't blowing very hard, but man, it was brutal! A great shot, and it's really nice to look at it from the comfort of my chair rather than out on that rail. Yikes!
This is one of the most incredible places. I've never been there, but it's on my bucket llist!!
Sorry to hear of the cold weather Bill. Superb capture. God bless.
Breathtaking in the true sense of the word when you were there, I expect!
Very zoom worthy Bill and a super shot.
Stunning mate, stunning.
A nice view and a great panorama but it surely does look cold up there!
very nice indeed
It was certainly worth the effort Bill a fantastic shot !
It does look incredibly cold and miserable, but oh how beautiful it is! Wonderful shot!
Superb view. I can appreciate the weather you were experiencing - I was in Portland that day and it was cold, windy and pouring rain.
And yet it is a wonderful landscape. :)
marvellous shot
great shot
A beautiful capture, great in zoom!! x
What a view! Outstanding shot Bill, perfectly taken and shown.. Rob
A super pano Bill and I read someplace that it is the second deepest lake in the word. The deepest is in Russia and it was formed in the same way!
ok I'm doing ANOTHER pano. Stop the presses...This one is definitely FILLED with details. And it's beautiful. I don't know how you keep your perspective when shooting for a pano---I mean, keeping the overall view in mind, while taking the individual shots. This has an overall view. We really do feel the span of the water's boundaries. And the punctuation of the island on the left side and the jutting land in the right foreground gives real "beats" to the shot, big dramatic visual beats. They're wonderful. The water is captured with formations that look like the kinds of lines one would see from an aerial shot. And the trees, with their vertical "interruptions," do real justice to the horizontal sweep. And the bad weather only makes this moodier. A fine concoction, and a beautiful scene, and more seamless "joining" from you...
