Description
Long ago this chair was new and comfortable. Today....not so much:)
Found in an abandoned marina on the eastern shore of the shrinking Salton Sea in California's Imperial Valley.
Used a bit of dry brush...

Superb capture Bill. God bless.
very good abstract
Interesting! Saw your wife's shot first.
Needs just a little work!
It has seen better times. What a great photo!
I just saw Tara's version of this - you both have an excellent eye for composition. I think it's most interesting - and fun - that this time it was you who got the close-up, and Tara got the larger view.. A great shot, Bill! I'll bet that chair could tell a really sad tale if it could talk.
Very cool shot Bill. I'll be looking at Tara's next I would think that a weekend of TLC and this chair will be ready for the firepit.
Great shot Bill. Tara is right, same chair different picture, but both of you managed to show the desolation and the hint of better times in the past!
you find Robinson Crusoe chair. lol cool shot and happy Halloween
I think Tara wins this time because of the skyline in hers (though I said water), ha ha! By the way, did you check to see if any coins had fallen in the back cushion?
This isn't really my kind of picture Wayne...but it was such a strange site I couldn't resist fiddling with it.
Maybe a place to sit and throw in a line? Awesome shot of this chair in disrepair Bill!!
This would make a great book jacket!
Nice effect with the dry brush. Sad that people leave such things abandoned to litter the landscape, but it makes an interesting photo. :) Thanks for sharing your talent.
excellent shot !!
One of Father Neptunes left off's!
LOL@ Jeff. In a similar way I wonder if King Canute left it there, surely he didn't stand for all that time trying to force the sea back :) You know this would have made one kick ass HDR Bill.
It's certainly seen better days a bit like me then LOL I don't think I could have resisted either it's both sad and surreal, good shot !
Excellent shot... OH, if just it could speek :) Love the composition. And it doesnt even stand looking into the lake :)
Both are great photos and uniquely different. :-)
Very nice capture and great postwork Bill. Maybe turning it into black and white would be interesting also.
You find allsorts!!!
very beautiful
I like what you did with this, postwork-wise. It adds to the mood of the place. And I like seeing everyone's comments ... it seems as if this is one of those images that is so good ... composition/subject matter ... that any treatment you give it would produce an excellent result. Good stuff!
derelict delight
Great find out there on the banks of the Salton Sea, Bill. I wonder if I look that antiquated.
Nice postwork and mood
wonderful treatment on this!
Seen better days but...on a dry day I'd use it lol Kind of nice in a grungy way lol Rob
