Description
Two nights ago we camped in a place called the Lamar RV Park and Horse Motel. Isn't that a great name? I think it is.
The owner is a retired farmer and collects old Minneapolis-Moline tractors. He told me he used to buy them for about $250 but since the price of scrap metal has gone up he now pays about $850-$900 for one like this.
He has the engines running on them all...some run on gas, some on propane, some on diesel. Getting a good deal on old but usable tires is his biggest problem.
How do you like the front tires on this beauty?
Think this Moline was manufactured sometime in the 1950s...it worked hard all of its' life and now it rests in peace:)

Fantastic use of selective colour Bill! Excellent capture!
Great shot, Bill. I love finding these old machines - I'd have filled a memory card. Well done
A great guy, and quite a collection. Love the angle on this one. I hope you'll post more from your tractor shoot! :)
Superb capture and coloring effect Bill. God bless.
A wonderful capture Bill.
Yes, it looks a little run down, but still very much awake :-D Superb shot :))))))
now that is a piece of junk
great shot
Great Bill. It's like a character out of Thomas the Tank!
This looks like it could have come from the movie Cars. Nice shot Bill.
There is a definite personality to this one. I do hope he gets the tires for it Great capture on this one Bill
Terrific capture of the old war horse, put out to pasture, Bill, and just about reflects how I look and feel at my stage of life. Interesting description of the motel and environs.
Beautiful shot, lets it show its good side. I love old pieces of our history like this. I kind of feel like this tractor too, poor thing.
Amazing shot my friend, fantastic perspective and textures!
I'm sure some new rubber would add color to the whole countryside, LOL! Nice shot!
Nothing lasts for ever!! Super shot.
Looks like a rough ride! She's seen better days, certainly, but what a beauty she is still. Excellent POV on this workhorse!
It is definitely desperate for some serious TLC. I laughed at Andrea's comment and when I looked at this old timer again I had to agree with her! Great find Bill!
What a wonderful shot, Bill! That poor old tractor's definitely seen better days! Yeah, that's a pretty good representation of how I feel at the end of the days work – eyes all bugged out, and tread coming off my tires!
love the camera angle you used for this. great shot.
Oh the poor thing! Can I just say aside from the fine shot, what fantastic postwork you've managed here! Well done Mate! Rob
For some reason (not so unusual for me) this shot makes me think of insects...actually, this makes me think of a nice, yellow fruitfly. This is one of those images that makes me smile. Now I'm thinking about fruit-flies, which is also making me think of beer. Hmmm...beer...there's a good idea.
