Description
...this Goodyear F2G-1 Super Corsair resides quietly in a very bright corner of the Boeing Museum of Flight in Seattle.
...the cutaway of its 28-cylinder radial Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major engine is a real attention getter:)
Zoom worthy.

Superb capture Bill. God Bless.
Amazing shot. Full size is a must.
I do like cutaways. We had one at school of a fourstroke car engine.
The Corsair is magnificent! And I am very surprised to see a cutaway of a radial engine! Perhaps some more shots of that if you have any? Great photos Bill!
They looked great with the bubble canopy.
WOW! As an anatomist I find these types of exhibits/pictures fascinating. What does the "xyz" look like inside. And, I see that the pistons are not arranged in a linear manner but are rotated/twisted around the propellers axle. I assume this has to do with evening out the forces around the axle. Great photo. Would like to see this close-up! And, a Happy New Year to you and Tara! :-)
Great image. Happy New Year!!
Great image Bill. I built a 1/72 scale model of this as a kids and loved the wing shape. The cut-a-way engine looks fantastic and I can see why it would draw the crowds. Happy New Year mate!
Great capture of this one I remember building this model as well Happy New Year to you and Tara
Marvelous shot Happy New Year!
Real nice Bill :-) I like this and its great to see it in a well lit (if not, too well lit) place! lol But no matter.. The engine is a great idea and very educational as well.. Fine work mate.. Rob
Super in zoom. Great pic. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, Tara & Mandy. xxx
Indeed it is. It is so abstract looking, this engine :) But the plane is pretty nice looking too. :)
Nice shot. Have a safe and Happy New Year! Aloha
ummm....nice shadowplay and reflections? LOL, you know how I am about airplanes. But really, this is very beautifully composed, and the colour pop is very well done!
A beautiful aircraft - one of my favorites - and you captured it well. I wish you and Tara a Happy New Year Bill and many joyous travels. BTW, I bought a Canon EOS 60D today. I was on sale at Best Buy and the BX price matched it.
Nice quasi silhouetting in this pic of the famous plane of the WWII Pacific theater, Bill. Reminiscent of the Baa Baa Black Sheep squadron led by Pappy Boyington.
Quite possibly my favorite exhibit at the museum! :) I remember the little boy who asked his mom, "Did that engine come out of that airplane?" He couldn't have been more than about five years old. He followed a tour docent around, drinking in every word. He's going to grow up to be Chuter, and have a working knowledge of every part on every plane. I think that level of interest must be inborn. Thanks for a great picture, and for some really fine memories of our first official date! :*
Happy torque... I'd love to see an animation of how one actually works... ;-)
They don't make em like this anymore, do they? I love all the light from those windows, it really makes this plane glow.
Great capture of this awesome plane Bill!! One of my favorites of the war in the Pacific!!
Cool POV and shot.
VERY BEAUTIFUL! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Superb. I just love these old birds :)
This is a really cool shot, Bill! I love the selective color on the engine - and the lighting is absolutely superb - a great capture, my friend! Hope you and Tara have an awesome 2013! I'm looking forward to another year of your great shots!
A big engine for big brute of a plane. A fine capture.
