Description
This is the Salters Steamer 'Reading' moored up in Oxford.
Reading was one of three boats built in 1901 and 1902, the others being Marlow and Sonning.
Of the three, Reading is the only one left in service with salters. Sonning is now with Newark Line Rover Cruises on the River Trent at Newark and Marlow has been scrapped.
I did a small series of photos of Marlow in poor condition being towed back to Salters yard in Oxford for evaluation re restoration. Sadly, she was too far gone.
