Description
James Island or A-Ka-Lat (Top of the Rock) as it is known by the small Quileute Indian Tribe of LaPush, Washington has been their tribal refuge and burial grounds for their chiefs for "thousands of winters".
We had the privilage of camping at this beach in our RV in the early part of May...no more than 100 feet from the high tide line.

Wonderful scenery Bill.
OHH What a beautiful place to visit. Must have been wonderful :-) Excellent shot, Bill.
Know this area, spent several weeks out there! Nice composition!
Great capture of this beautiful seascape Bill!!
Bill, thanks for the link to the Quileute web site. It was fascinating to read about these people of whom I've heard, but known nothing about! These old Indian cultures harbor a LOT of ancient facts and information in their histories and legends. The story of a great flood corroborates well with many other Indian (and non-Indian) sources. I've heard of James Island/A-Ka-Lat, but now I've had the opportunity to see this interesting place. Thanks for posting! :-)
Well done - superb composition.
Look at all that wood, lovely pic!!

That's a great view! Now why didn't I think to shoot that? LOL! Oh ... probably because I was taking pictures of three square inches of driftwood or something. This is just gorgeous. A most excellent photograph!
Wonderful work,
A grand image, replete with James Island, clouds and ocean breakers, Bill, but I especially like the foreground.
