Description
The Rites of Spring bring forth the Virgin bedecked with flowers to represent the earth goddess. She ventures into the forest to enchant the stag who is transformed into the Lord of the Forest, the Stag of the Seven Tines. The Stag Lord pursues and the Spring Virgin flees from him, but her flight is half-hearted. For she knows the Stag Lord will overtake her and their ritual coupling will bring fertility to the land and the blessings of Mother Earth.
Hello dear friends, I have been so busy these last weeks I haven't been able to be in the galleries much. This image has just been sitting on my hard drive waiting for some time to upload it. I figured I needed to soon, or spring would be over!
Thank you for taking a look, and for your comments and favorites. Your support is greatly appreciated.

An evocative composition, my friend. Makes me feel young again .. at least in spirit .. ;o) Figures, poses, animation, textures, foreground plants and background are all well blended. Bravo! Warm regards from a chilly Glasgow ( with these northerly winds it feels like the snow is returning, not summer approaching .. ;o ) ), John.
