Description
The Rites of Spring bring forth the Virgin bedecked with flowers to represent the earth goddess. She ventures into the forest to enchant the stag who is transformed into the Lord of the Forest, the Stag of the Seven Tines. The Stag Lord pursues and the Spring Virgin flees from him, but her flight is half-hearted. For she knows the Stag Lord will overtake her and their ritual coupling will bring fertility to the land and the blessings of Mother Earth.

The forest setting is beautiful, the allegory of spring is excellently rendered, either by the head-horned crvidé or by the very flowery dress of the young woman. Following another out, so the atmosphere is well done. A real gem!
