Aphrodyte est devenue jalouse de Psyché, une simple mortelle à qui certains hommes rendent un culte.
Elle demande à son fils Eros de la punir. Psychée est enlevée et conduite au palais d'Eros. Celui-ci en tombe amoureux, mais Psychée ne doit jamais voir son visage.
Les sœurs de Psychée lui disent qu'elle couche peut-être avec un monstre...
