Description
Captured 12/11/11, not on the olde sod, but at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, on the beautiful campus of California State University Long Beach, in beautiful Long Beach, California.
A ZOOM would be ideal.
Hardly the place for a shillelagh, or even a four leaf clover, but there are Blarney stones all over the place.
Sure and it's sheer irony that I had to dig into my Japanese Garden files to find something anywhere lushly green for this time honored and venerated day of the Irish, which, incidentally, I am not.
Anyway, have a Happy St Patrick's Day!
Sayonara, thankx for popping in, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Nice job with this beautiful post to help celebrate the day Harry
Pretty image,it loks like Southern California was gettting rained on today. Have a great day and weekend.
WOW Harry this is exceptionally beautiful!! I just love it!!
A lovely place.
Richly lush and serene, Harry; and that might even be Irish moss on that little island in the water. Looks like even the koi are admiring the green. Sure, and it's an excellent composition you're having in this exceptional capture!
I'm not sure if the island is small or that Koi in the left corner is huge. Truly a stunning place and a nice capture.
Gorgeous shot to celebrate the day.
Beautiful scene Harry. I like it a lot. Happy St Paddy's day.
lol forgot what day this is. cool shot
Beautiful photo!
Perfect for the day...beautifully done. It is hard to go very far wrong when shooting pictures in such a gorgeous place.

Perfect Harry! This really is a most beautiful place.. Wish we had something like it near here...Mind you, the yobs would just wreak it! Great shot mate Rob
I love this beautiful scene you have captured here. It has everything, water, green, and lots of blarney stones.
A very beautiful capture!!
I truly keep meaning to go to your very most recent shots, but I get so caught up in all the pieces I missed in the last months, that I often don't get there. I wanted to visit some cars & planes this time, and since I never commented on this---I thought I had, I mean I was really surprised I hadn't---I decided to end, today, with this. Well in our age of globalization, it's fitting that you should celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a garden designed after the masters of an Asian island state. It's lushly green, but you also have beautiful blues, dabbles of reds & yellows, beautiful grays, and those pale peach-hued rocks (or at least sections of those rocks). It's a real melange of hues & textures, and the feeling of a kind of mini paradise. You captured it in a kind of cradled pov, allowing us to see it all as a big bed laid out for us and jutting forward to us. And the water has beautiful clarity, filled with beautiful reflections and punctuated by koi (I assume). A big lavish tapestry, and a beautiful piece for the day. People who don't zoom don't know what they're missing. (And btw, since you mentioned it, that bike on the street photo I just posted? You bet, they allow people to tie their bikes all over the place, as long as it's tied to the fence and fairly upright. It's no problem when there's one or two, but if there are a lot, the sidewalks can be like obstacle courses---and in that close overhanging neighborhood, believe me there are many narrow streets near the wide one you saw there. And those bikes can get in the way.) Always great to be here. I'll be back for more!
