Description
...we went out looking for interesting light the other day and wound up in Evergreen Cemetery, Everett, Washington.
...this marker (and yes it is a big one) is made out of polished marble (I think) and yielded quite a highly reflective surface along with some words that struck my fancy.

Very cool capture and very true words to live by...
Fantastic reflection and words! Did you take another shot on your knee as to get the self portrait? :~)
Stunning capture Bill. This stone is like a mirror seeing your reflection and background reflection. God Bless.
excellent words
Wonderful self portrait Bill!!! Great words to live by.
Very true mate.
Pretty polished Bill, like a mirror! Good words too!
Has to be the shiniest marker I have ever seen... amazing. Love the syaing on it. Nice shot.
An excellent well composed shot and time for reflection!!
People should reflect on those very wise word's-Well found and captured.
This is a wonderful photo, Bill. I like the subtle postwork and the words are very wise.
This is quite interesting. I've seen a few black granite grave stones that have been polished like this. Must be very expensive to polish. I wonder how long such polishing lasts? This is a great photo - unusual. You have your portrait, the black stone, the message, your background and the background behind the stone all in one image. Interestingly you have almost matched the horizontals in the reflection with the horizontals behind the stone. From the polish, I assume the stone has been recently erected. No sign of Tara - is she hiding behind the stone? This is also an interesting study in light - shadow. I'm thinking of all the artists who composite 3D figures into photos, and getting the lighting to match between 3D and photo (not an easy task). Keep up the good work. This was another surprise! :-)
What a lovely photo & wise words & your reflection too :o)
A motto to live by for sure. You did well to capture this but tell me it's not another "Hunt The Bill" Competition :)
Oh i want one like this but i can wait awhile i hope but this is a beauty and great eye for this.
How true these words are. Nice photo.
Great shot and good words to remember.
Well spotted, and a great shot on many levels, Bill.
full of emotion and so true, wonderful done, love the colors in this very much...
Fine POV, and I can see your reflection in this beautifully kept marker, Bill. Kind of reminds me of the monolith in the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey. And, is that a quote from Ronald Reagan?
Excellent photography! I love the way the reflection matches the background. That shiny surface is terrific!
A really fun one here. :-)
Well, my memory isn't what it used to be & I'm hopeful but not necessarily optimistic about the future, but living in the present is definitely something I can subscribe to...
Nice shot and super words worth remembering Bill, Well done!!
That is pretty amazing, at first I thought it was a photoshop trick. Nice work.
You can only try! Can't you? Wise words I think... Interesting gravestone Bill... Nice self portrait as well lol Rob
