Description
This was in Miller Canyon, Ft. Huachuca Mountains, Arizona, USA, at the Beatty's Guest Ranch. It probably no longer exists. The devastating fire there denuded the area up the mountain, and summer monsoon rains washed a lot of mud and boulders down the mountainside. The bridge is gone, that I know. I was standing on the bridge to take this picture. The path led to their primary hummingbird observation area. The Beatty's are very nice people, and I hate what's happening to them. First, about 3000 of their apple trees burned, along with the other vegetation in the area, though they stayed behind and fought off the flames that were threatening their cabins, hand-carrying five gallon buckets of water. They saved all the cabins. Government officials have taken up where nature left off, and are doing more damage to the area. They're running roughshod over Beattys' rights, and damaging their property, and destroying Spotted Owl habitat. They're also threatening to take Beattys' water. As far as I can tell, all this is against the law, but they don't care. Let this be a memorial to the beauty that once was.

Very nice capture..hopefully they will prevail!!
I read more about the June 2011 fire at the Internet site of Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory... very sad story... And in addition if authorities are adding to the damage...I fully understand and share your anger... Thank you for this memorial upload... :~/
Great and beautiful photography my friend....!!!
I can sit and watch a little whitewater brook like this for hours. Like the way you've captured a small cascade for us. You've shown just enough to make me want to see more.
