Description
Here's a knocking indeed! If a man were porter of Hell Gate,
he should have old turning the key. [Knock] Knock, knock,
knock! Who's there, i' th' name of Belzebub? . . . [Knock] Knock,
knock! Who's there, in th' other devil's name?
Macbeth Act 2, scene 3, 1–8
The gate of the Cardiff Castle...
I did Macbeth as a setwork some 31 years ago...
I do not remember it!

Stunning capture Clive. God Bless.
Me too..only rather longer ago! I love the play and have seen it at least a dozen times, set in any different centuries and places. Great shot, super compo.
a dangerous place to enter a castle
Awesome shot.
Fascinating! I love all the detail in this. Stone work, heavy door, portcullis ... and what's that arched piece of metal hanging from chains? I'm hooked. Excellent image!
Excellent shot Clive. We don't have castles in the USA but the US Army built brick forts with this exact type of entrance in the late 1700s up to the mid 1800s when rifled cannon made brick forts obsolete. The forts however still stand at entrances to our major harbors and offer fascinating insights into the way things used to be...
I like this shot Clive, well seen and captured.
Great image Hugs Susan~
Great POV on this castle gate; excellent details!
A most interesting photo...I was looking at it a long time and getting lost in thought!
Have to be a LOUD knock to get in there! lol Good shot once more.. Like this tour :-) Rob
You need a sword or some other strong weapons to knock LOUD enough there...
