Description
For those of you not interested in aviation ... ummm ... I don't think this post has much redeeming value. I usually at least have an abstract composition to keep you entertained, but this is just a bunch of detail for my friends who are plane nuts.
The B-25 in Paul Allen's collection has been meticulously restored. If you look at the fourth frame down, you'll see they even found an original bombsight data book.
And the plane is in flyable condition, of course!

Interesting up to a point....!
Being an avid airplane buff, I love these shots. I try to attend every fly-in in my town so I can photograph the details of the aircraft. I also build model aircraft with as much detail as possible. Thanks for the greats shots.
Wonderful set of pics Tara, I wonder if they will be of any value to the enemy!!
WOW! Really killer machines. Excellent shots.
UN TRABAJO MAGNIFICO
Really impressive...to see in a Museum. I love it.
Tut, tut, you could have been locked up for these pics back in the day.The Norden bombsights were removed between missions and kept under 24 hr guard in blast proof storage, they were that secret.Manufactured by the 'Victor Adding Machine Company', the bomb aimer could destroy the target and calculate his wages at the same time :-) Excellent set of pics Tara, very detailed and interesting to me, but then all your images are.....thanks..
I appreciate the abstract quality, especially the curves in the first frame. I presume that is an arc of ammo. It must have been deafening when firing those guns in such close quarters.
nice work
Very interesting photos! Excellent work! :)
Very nice photos! These restorations are truly a labour of love!
Plane nuts or plain nuts? There is always something compelling about relics from my father's war. Excelent detail. Wonderful collection of images.
Great shots of a reallt sweeeet restoration job, Tara! I hope they keep this beauty on the ground for a while.
Thanks for the close-ups!
Well, while the subject matter might not be to my taste your shots as always are lovely. And there is still some abstraction to them, given that it's pieces and not the whole ;)
wow I would hate to be the one in there. cool shots
Oooo, the detail...scrumptious. And posting these all together in a fascinating collection really does it for me. So sharp, clear and crisp! Simply put, I'm jealous:)
very interesting technical pictures of the machinary of war. If not tried yet, you can use a polarization filter to try to get rid of reflection on the glass (if wanted).
Awesome shots.
Nice shots. I have a few B-25's on my site.
very strong photo ageinst war!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic detailed images put together in a nice collage Tara. I am sure all your friends that are aircraft buffs will really appreciate this. I know I do!
Awesome and very interesting collage. Well done!!
I was lost at the first bolt!! lol
Yeah but for those of us that are interested......................EXCELLENT!
I see stuff like this and I occasionally find myself slipping into some variation of George Lucas' Star Wars universe. It's amazing what references you'll find there: right down to royal starships that look and sound suspiciously like B-52 bombers, hover tanks full of droids that look suspiciously like Nazi tanks rolling into Paris, though they're actually rolling into...well...um...an interplanetary recreation of Paris on the day Nazi tanks rolled into it, and so I can say that this series of shots works on so many different levels. I love the details and colors in each of them, and the whole weird feeling I get from looking at Star Wars source material. These are excellent and I love that there's something for everybody in these shots and in this whole series. This is good stuff!
