Description
I have always been impressed by the quality and quantity of art produced by the Balinese. In Mas I had the opportunity to visit a woodworking “factory” and came away amazed. Tomorrow, the finished products.

Fascinating images Can't wait to see what you're going to show us
so involved the story tells wonderful capture warm hugs, Linda
I love to watch artists work. Even in still photographs it holds my attention!
Not only is the work he's doing exquisite, but the patina on his tools says a lot too! Anxious to see the result!
Fascinating....
That is still true craftsmanship. And when you see the simple tools you can hardly believe that creates a delicate artwork. I like your trip reports. Juli
not more a lot of wood in Bali, they must import now from Kalimantan (which the proper documents, as the police stops the trucks and check the freight). Cutting down the trees in the forests of Bali is not more allowed. less and less people doing the wood carving handicraft nowadays, they prefer to work in construction where they get more money. So this kind of photos will get rarer with the time.
Now that is interesting to see a craftsman at work superb capture my friend looking forward to see finished product !!
Beautiful images , Mark ! Interesting captures !

Most excellent work! Well done!
GREAT COMPOSITION!
Interesting what 'geckogr' has to say, which is totally believable and true nowadays, but that was a long time ago then ... I remember these carvers as well, thank you BB
Fascinating to see his woodworking tools and to see him at work. Is the picture previous work, or an image to help him with what he is doing now? Amazing work and great images!
I imagine it is a skill he learned at a very young age, nice work.
