Description
Captured 4/21/11, early in the morning under leaden skies, within walking distance of my recondite residence.
Better detail viewed full size.
I had already crossed the tracks when I decided to turn and snap these pics of the lady, who I encounter every so often during my walks, waiting ever so patiently for the graffiti-adorned train to go slowly lumbering by. A very nice woman, who, incidentally, is a deaf mute, so although she can see, feel, and even smell the train as it passes, she can't hear it. Note the relative blur of the train in contrast to the clarity of the individual.
The boxcars are a veritable playground for graffiti artists, or feral youth, as Andrea so eloquently describes them, in displaying their artistic talents to the world. That's one efficient way to have their work displayed extensively without even having to carry it around themselves. Most of it are inane scrawlings, but there are some images that were carefully planned and applied with great dexterity and color.
Adios, compadres, thankx for popping in, and for any and all laudatory comments.

Yes, there are a lot of mobile artworks running around the country on train sides; excellent shots of this rolling gallery and the young lady watching it pass, Harry!
Harry these are so neat...some of these kids who paint Graffiti do dam amazing I will say...love the trains here though. :-)
Neat idea for a collage. Like that 3rd shot with the colors. Our trains look very similar here.
A nice collage i like the graffiti art some are really cool superb work !!
Patience is a vertue they say but they seem to take an age to pass sometimes don't they. Excellent captures and graffiti can look great when it is done nicely.
wonderful shots of this action
This is a fantastic collage Harry, and choosing to include this young lady in it was a brilliant idea. Thanks for sharing that info about her as it opened up my mind to so many important things to ponder.
Most interesting! The lass adds much interest to the images.
Interesting!
Cool collage Harry and we don't see many graffiti trains down here. I think that Wayne (Waleman) published a book on railroad graffiti. Dana
Great collage Harry!!!
Fine collage Harry. I too think that a person or persons can add a lot to a photograph. You've done it here! We are on the road again headed west. I think I'll be able to comment regularly again. Our connection for the last 10-11 days has been abysmal:)
