Description
A British Gloster "Meteor".
I took a lot of pictures of this aircraft but found this rather partial shot (for me) to be to my liking.
This Meteor sits in the Airpark at Edwards Air Force Base at Roger's Dry Lake, California where it was evaluated (test flown) by the US Air Force shortly after World War II.

Great compo! The POV draws my eye immediately to the nose and thence back to the rest of the plane...wonderful work!
Wonderful capture very impressive looking aircraft
Excellent POV, great work
A "Big Nose" to sense you better!!
they used to fly a lot from my local airport...
Like a toy!
Glad you don't do 'portraits'.....what a nose :-) Unusual angle on this Bill, but great view of the transition from square to domed canopy. I always liked the original Meteor, but never took to this long nose setup. Still a very interesting piece of aviation history, well captured.
awesome POV!! fantastic shot!!
Great pic but I think it is an unattractive plane. (didn't want to say ugly :o))
WOW Grandma, what a big nose you have. :D Excellent POV !
Lovely capture Bill. I used to see these flying around when I was a kid, these and Vampires which were made by DeHavilland.
Cool shot!!
I drove out to Edwards Air Force base once years ago to see a cat someone was giving away thinking back I must have been nuts it was a long drive to go see a cat.. lol I doubt I would do that now not with these crazy gas prices. Great shot.
Great shot Bill I like this partial one.. Love how its nose is almost nudging you..
superb POV!
Wow, love that imposing nose, really brought to the fore in this striking POV, Bill. Great clarity, color, lighting and perspective in this one.
Somebody put tiddlywinks in the engines!
WOW! It has a big nose. That must have been a tough canopy to fly in. Dana
Really love the POV on this, Bill! LOL @ Tara..... Tiddlywinks... some pretty big ones!!
I like the closeupness of this one. Excellent capture.
Oh my that plane look so heavy :)
Sadly I know nada about planes, though I am learning hehe Great shot Bill!
Just for those not in the know... the rather portly nose contained a radar system and this aircraft was a 'NF' version, that standing for Night Fighter... The paintwork it sports here is not quite what it would have had in service.. But, still a fine shot, so no fear there.. Well done Bill... Rob
