Hi all - First, I want to say a heartfelt 'thank you' to all the folks who sent me emails, comments and favs in relation to my last posting. You touched my heart. Really. I appreciate all your support and kind words. You gave me a lot of smiles and made me feel good. I appreciate that very much.
I did this picture a while ago... when I was going through some stress with my friend's death (Jackie) and dealing with my mom's declining state. So this is a 'bit dark'. But I wanted to post this now. I'm actually doing 'okay'. Taking it one day at a time.
On the positive side, I'm grateful to have you guys out there. I'm grateful to have a good hubby and some wonderful kids. Life is full of ups and downs and I want to try to appreciate the positive... I've finally had a chance to view some of your art and I've missed that. Really.

As always I love your colors, especially that emerald green in the back. Even with the skulls, it looks like there are things growing and alive in the forest!

This is both dark and whimsical at the same time. I don't think you can help it. You are not a "dark" person.

I am so glad to hear that you are making your way through the loss. And that's what we do, as you said, one day at a time. This is a stunning piece. I love the boldness here, it's not dark in a typical sense of deep shadow, but in a subject sense. The bold sky, the beautiful water line you made behind her is just an amazing backdrop to a lush character, colorful and one senses deadly. Very nicely done and inspiring!
