Description
...all we were doing Sunday afternoon was going to take some pictures of the MiG shown in my last two uploads.
...but before we could turn to the MiG, this beautifully fully restored 1929 Travel Air 6000 begged us to go outside and take its' picture.
...zoom worthy too.
Bill
P.S. Want a little more detail to include pics of how this Travel Air was restored and/or a video of it flying? Click Here.
P.S.S. No this isn't an ad for Pepsi...those cans are just there to catch a few oil drips...:)

Beautifully capture Bill. What a fantastic old aircraft. I can just hear that radial making beautiful music. Can you picture this aircraft travel at an altitude of about 2-300ft following visual landmarks across the country?
Nice shot of that rotary engine Bill. Well done on this.
Cool little plane, I love its shiny prop.. Super captures Bill..
So much to marvel at in the collage, Bill! The circular exhaust tract, the polished blades and wood, the colour-coded drip cans! Clive
nice piece of old machinery
Stunning restoration! I am always in awe of those with such talents..
Wonderful set of pictures Bill.
A very pretty machine!
A true beauty Bill and fantastic images! You are so good with these!
Classic beauty!
What a beauty that is. They have done an excellent job rebuilding it and you captured it beautifully.
How pretty it is! Beautiful shots and collage!
WOW!
Wonderful composition...well done
wonderful collage
Hm... looks familiar - must be the plane I flew in from Frankfurt (Germany) to Boston in 1956. No, just kidding - that was a Constellation, but close enough - both have propellers! ;) Fuselage looks like wood and metal, but the wings look like fabric. Nice montage work, Bill. Good photo job - we get the colors just right. Now, if Pepsi were smart, they'd use that plane in their advertising. Keep up the good work - you seem to be getting better and better at it. :-)
Very smart, pepsi cans are clever :o)
Neat looking beauty Great image Hugs Susan~
The cans give it a modern look. A lovely collage of this beautiful old timer who still looks to be in great condition.
What a gorgeous ride! That's just too cool, Bill! Excellent photo, and I'll have to check out that link! Love your photos, my friend!
Cool collage depicting the renovation of the aircraft, Bill, that kind of reminds me of Lindberg's The Spirit of St Louis.
wonderful photos!!
She is in magnificent shape Bill, great capture and I bet worth stroking her curves.
great old plane--and what a creative way to catch those drips!!
Coach built airframes, made by craftsmen.Interesting to think that in the early days, the most impotant people in an aircraft plant were carpenters... Great collage Bill, this may be something to occupy the Civil Division of my plant, I'm sure I must have some blueprints somewhere....
I love this plane. Such great colors, and it was a joy to see!
No cell phones no traffic jams no high gas prices, I thing I will go. Beautiful plane.
Fantastic collage and restoration project. Cool video. Dana
Absolutely cool thing to stumble across (I love Travel Airs). That's from the era when aircraft manufacturers were trying to make their planes' interiors resemble car interiors, and car makers were trying to make their car interiors look like a plane's ... lol.
What a find....!!!!
