Description
Just to the South of Reading town centre, the main road goes up a hill. Half way up the hill there is a crossroads and on the upper half, left side of the crossroads is this little block of two houses and two shops.
They have been derelict as far back as I can remember and have always fascinated me as a photographer. I've no idea why.
Possibly just the fact that they are still there when perfectly useful and serviceable parts of the town have been demolished to make way for roads and office blocks.
This shop and house are little more than frontages these days, the backs having long since fallen down. A similar fate is slowly befalling the neighbouring properties.
Still, I sometimes wonder what the interior of V. Norris' Fancy Drapery shop might have looked like.

Great shot of the sign of the times.
Oh gosh, I'd stare at them every time I passed by, as well! It's easy for me to see how you could be fascinated by this. Excellent capture!
