Description
I've heard that winter actually ends after a while, to be followed by spring, and then summer.
It's a lovely theory.
Today we got snow again. Not a lot, just a light dusting ... not even an inch. Still, it's not daffodils and tulips out there, it's cold and snow.
It probably wouldn't be bothering me if I hadn't been sick all week, but right about now I'm ready for a bit of warmth and sunshine. Somehow I feel like if it weren't below freezing out there I wouldn't be coughing as much.
Sunflowers and sunshine ... ahhhhh ... what a thought!

Amen! We had three inches of snow at our house and all the pretty little crocus got covered, and then the temperature dropped to 20. Brrrrr! I love your picture that reminds me that there are pretty flowers in our future...I hope.
Bilal kai fa!...okay, I think I've been reading Dune too much; I shouldn't be able to write anything in the Zensunni language, and yet...I start off a comment with the Fremen phrase that essentially translates, sorta-kinda to: "Amen to that." Or something. I hope I haven't just said something like: Your stillsuit smells like a Harkonnen boot. Ah, but I know how to say "Harkonnen" in the Fremen language and since that didn't pop up in what I said, I think I'm safe from insulting anyone. And so, now that I've rambled on about non-existent languages, I have to say that I'm with you on hoping for spring to get here. We had snow too...a dusting, and enough to make Corey get all sniffly; I think his sinuses are allergic to winter. I will say, though, that I love this photo. It's so warm and alive, and brilliantly evocative of the sun, and it's flat-out gorgeous too! This is a super shot and yeah, nice and warm!
warmth? sun? not in Washignton..... Nice idea, Tara
I understand this - the climate is shifting. End of Feb and our predicted temps are ramping up to 34°C on Tuesday. Autumn will be late in arriving this year by the look of things. Get well, Clive
Beautiful flowers Tara, Had a beautiful sunny day today, was able to get a second coat of paint on part of the house today :-) your turn for the sun will come.. sometime!!
Beautiful colors! Here, we should wait a long time before seeing sun, it is Belgium... It is cold and humid today. M.
Suns out today hope you get some soon,we have snowdrops and crocus out and some Daffs in bud,Hope you get over your sickness soon.
There is nothing quite like sunshine to help start a recovery..best wishes for renewed health, Tara!
Lovely image Tara and get well soon.
My first ones are just about to bloom! Lovely pic.
Thanks for uplift. Still snowed in here. S-t-o-p P-l-e-a-s-e -- we aren't used to this out here in the wetter west. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Please take some of our warmth/stifling heat...! Don't sniff your superb photograph - you may get hay fever on top of your snuffles...
OHHH!!!!!!! One of my fav Flowers. Wonderful shot and wonderful warm clors too Love this one. And I do hope you are fully recovering now, dear Tara. Stay warm.

Very beautiful flowerS
Om my gosh - can Bill find his shovel under the snow??? Wha-ha-ha!!!! Fantastic image Tara - I love your choice of postwork and the light is superb. Clive may get a late autumn down in Cape Town but we can certainly feel a nip in the air up north! Hope you will see daffodils and sunshine soon!
Splendid image!!
Looking at this provides some Sunshine! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. I'm ready for flowers too. I don't have snow, but I don't have flowers either :(
very lovely looking
So beautiful! Sorry you're sick too, it's a miserable time for some of us right now, eh? I love your comp and postwork here, the sickness hasn't reached your artistic sense, at least!
A superb capture of these beautiful flowers and I agree with the climate change we have had virtually no summer down here just an odd hot day or two and then rain. Mind you other parts of NZ have had a lovely summer just not us this year. I hope your weather improves soon and that you feel better soon.
Exquisite clarity, muted bright colors, patterns and textures in this stellar floral capture. Take care!
Splendid image! :)
Well, I hope you're feeling better, Tara! You certainly made me feel better with this capture - like sunshine radiating from my monitor! We just had another few inches of snow here - actually a few days ago. It's almost gone now, but we still have March to go through. I can't wait for the first warm weekend - time for a few Canon moments! Lovely capture!
Bill Cosby once commented on you part of the world in an early album. He was visiting Seattle and the sun came out one day. "Oh, what is that!" the natives all cried. Then they built an altar and sacrificed a calf. This is a brilliant image, warm and sunny. For sunny try a hot toddy or two or three. After a while everything will look sunny. For warmth try chicken soup, a bed with lots of blankets and a cuddle with Bill. I hope your recovery is going well.
Here Here for what awaiy says...I need sunshine also...lovely image
