Description
Captured 2/7/11, early in the morning, within walking distance of my haunting haunt.
It was May of 2009 when I last posted tree bark photos, so it's about time I showed some more, of which there are tons/tonnes vegetating in my files.
Sayonara, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all favs and complimentary comments.

Really nice captures here Harry, love the texture of this bark
I love trees that have this kind of peeling bark. Fascinating!
These are lovely captures of this beautiful bark. The colouring and texture is amazing.
The tree bark looks like a puzzle :O) Nice work.
Sooo different from Bark I see here...wow...doesn't even resemble it. Soo interesting Harry...sometimes I don't think of things like this...being so different yet in the same Country. Awesome post my friend! :-)
I love the shapes this bark takes on, along with the subtle colour differences. Beautiful captures!
I've seen some camouflage patterns similar to this...very cool Harry.
Possible to get these in original image form? Would make a great camo-texture in some 3D apps. Message me if you wish...asking permission...

Very different/unique tree bark Harry. I can only wonder what the rest of the tree looks like. But i do love the textures here!
Fantastic photos Harry! Super textures and patterns. Dana
I'll end with this one today (I'll return to current uploads next time, I promise!) because it's another Harry image. The hues here feel like early morning (when you shot it), as the only other time it could look like this is late afternoon. The bark is awash in that amorphous golden yellow, and its greens & oranges & off-whites all take on a special glow. (It actually is the color of curry!) More indication of your native eye for the abstract. You know, if I've said this before, bear with me: But people think of 'abstract' as the opposite of natural & organic; but it comes from the roots "to draw out" ("ab" & "tract"---a tract being a drawing or explication of some kind). In that sense, abstraction is 'drawing out essences': And that can be very organic. Your eye for patterns, textures & hues, reveal the deeper organicism of the bark. And your early morning habit is a gift for your viewers: You know when the light is special. Many are the mornings I've literally screamed at the sun, "sit STILL, you miserable ____!" It moves so damned fast & its early light goes away so quickly: If you get there 30 minutes late? All gone! That's why I appreciate that you're out at that hour. Artists should be given vouchers to tell the sun to stay put for an extra hour. I can never enough shots in 20 minutes...Revealing & sensuous images; and "harry" images because they're yet another piece of art taken from your everyday environs...
