Description
Thanks to danapommet, I remembered that I had these fotos in my voluminous files.
Captured 7/1/10, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden on the beautiful campus of California State University Long Beach in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Better viewed full size.
Returned to my favorite clear water koi/carp spot to snap these beauties and their shadows under a high summer sun. This time I used a neutral density filter to cut down on the contrast and a polarizing filter to help eliminate reflections. But, because I used a relatively high shutter speed thru a 28/200mm lens, many of the images came out black and imperceptible on the monitor, so I had to Photoshop brighten them up for viewing. Other than that, everything is as I shot it.
Au revoir, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

I love that action pic!
A wonderful collage of these gorgeous fish. You have captured them so clearly too even showing the shadows of the fish. Superb captures.
wonderful scenes and awesome series once more ! thanks and great congratulations !
Lots of movement going on. Nice bright colors.
colorful and bright--your koi are always joyful!!!
They are beautiful!
Whatever you did Harry worked beautifully...there never is a dull moment when these fish are swimming for our enjoyment:)
this is wonderful
I always liked your koi shots. They are such a wonderful subject to photograph and you caught them beautifully in their array of patterns and colors! Great collage Harry!
I love your Koi shots. They are so colorful.
Wow, what a fantastic set of shots; whatever you did made these really stunning, Harry. Great work!
This collage is fantastic Harry. Love the colors and clarity. Dana
Look at the multitude of colors....just wonderful! And you can tell these are some VERY well fed koi..not a skinny one in the bunch, LOL. Love how you captured their shadows too!
Beautiful colors and patterns on the Koi on the left in number one. I love the blue and black spots and the black stripes on his tail! Wonderful progression of these images, like a crowded festival. The first one, things are getting a little crowded as the little guy gets slapped by a tail. The second image, there are a few near collisions. In the third image, total mayhem. Then in the last image the celebrators are making their way home. I love the action in the third shot and the shadows in the last. Excellent light, colors, and detail!Great shots!
Fantastic Harry... I love the third one...well..love them all but that one is sooo pretty...thank you for sharing again.
I agree with the comments, and it's always a pleasure to read lucinda, who really dives in (no pun intended, these being koi). I forget that you've already posted a number of these, indicated by the "15" in your title. They never run out of variation & beauty. The montage has very clear few fish, and then lots of fish with water patterns that make them more like paintings. While I don't have a good enough camera to do all the filtering you've done, I understand the principle nonetheless; and I know how hard one can work to balance & compensate, etc. And I also know that sometimes it backfires). Whatever you did in PS, you brought them back to life. The top one is quite bold, and the bottom one---the finale---is like a Monet or Impressionist painting, filled with undulating & alternating hues. Beautiful sequence from first to last, and beautiful seeing all around.
