Description
Another Snowy owl but more appropriate with all the snow we have at present! I was fortunate on the day I captured this one that the light was beautiful and lit up those amazing golden yellow eyes..
These Huge owls breed as the name suggests in the Arctic tundra, where females lay a clutch of 3 to 10 eggs. This depends on available prey like Lemmings.. Parents are territorial and will defend their nests against all comers—even wolves.
Young owls, especially males like this one, get whiter as they get older. Females are darker than males, with dark spotting, and never become totally white. Some elderly males do become completely white, though many retain small flecks of dusky plumage.

Very beautiful capture
This knocks me over. Profiled to show off that bullet body! Feet tucked in so close for less wind resistance..."Fingers" on the wingtips spread so perfectly. Stellar shot!
Excellentissime shot, Danny (I know how difficult it is to capture in_flight with the telelens...) And especially thank you for the ornithologic and photographic (Exif)informations ! I'm always delighted to see your uploads ! :~)
This is such a stunning photo Danny, and the lighting is indeed perfect for it.

Your photos are always so sharp & clear, a wonderful capture Danny!
Stunning, stunning capture! This is one of my favorite owls. They just look so very regal. And this is a beautiful shot in that it shows us those feathers at the tips of the wings that enable their flight to be silent. Amazing creatures!!!
