Description
Thank you for taking a moment to take a close up peek!
As you may have noticed I have recently been exploring new thematics and presentation styles. A more moody gothic/fantasy fusion that started with Midnight Bleu and on with Highlander. As I said in Midnight Bleu I am finally starting to get to where I have been wanting to go for the past few years. Thanks to so many good friends at this site for all your support on my journey; your words and your works mean a lot to me.
Often I feel like this warrior. Standing vigilant, a bit scared, staring out into the unknown inky darkness. Wishing that the light that shines behind me, the light of past knowledge, would more fully illuminate where I am about to go.
Almost gave up on this image, went through multiple versions - nothing felt right. And though I felt like trashing it I just could not let go either. So I kept working at it and it wound up being really different than what I thought it was gonna be. And I quite like it. Something that seemed like it would never live actually wound up speaking to my heart.
And there is a lesson here in that. Sometimes we try to force our way in this world doing what has always worked before, or seemed to work before. But you know, if you just let go of those expectations about the way you think things should be or should be done... The real answer will be right there, right in front of you. So close you couldn't see it for looking.
So, be vigilant - and don't be too scared to step into the dark.
This again is for Terry, because he knows. And because he has given a lot of backstage help lately.
Special thanks also to Kaleya for creating Mereth. She is a perfect actress for in my current play on life. She's gonna have a lot of work to do in my runtime!
Blessed Be

the way you depict the working on the work itself ,the struggle ,the feeling of trashing it,depicts in a way our earthly way. very fine work and also the words .5++.
I for one am glad you decided to stick with this one, it came out wonderful. Often I almost give up on them as well but file them away to try something different down the road. Many times it's a simple thing that never really entered my head at conception that had kept the image from "making" it, wondering why I didn't see it to begin with. I'm not sure what she's vigilant about but with one of Alice's axes in her hands I think she can take care of herself... lol. Very nicely done in all aspects.
Fantastic work !
Beautiful scene and character!
belle image!!
Great work~
This is a beautiful image, and quite full of meaning, reflecting your writing so well. I really think the soft focus is a good contrast to the strength, and once again you have created something wonderful!
The mood is fantastic, the image awesome. It speaks volumes in many subjects. Beautiful work

Excellent
Excellent!!
Determined but yet tense - very realistic character. Interesting composition - her hand and the axe make up a triangle that point forward. That, in combination with the whole image tilt, creates a mental movement. Bravo!
Great classy work!! Wonderful!!
