Description
After watching Ridge with Lance together, Clint gets a little jealous. He goes down to their deck, pulls Ridge away from Lance and tells him he wants to talk to him alone! Alarmed at Clint’s behavior, Ridge follows him. They go down to the bottom deck to be alone.
Clint hates to admit it, but he has more than just a physical attraction towards Ridge. However, Ridge seems to be only out for a good time. He admits he really likes Clint, but he is no where ready to settle down to just one partner, yet! They get into some very heated discussions and almost come to blows, till suddenly, Clint has a moment of clarity and realizes that he has become too possessive. He calms down long enough to reflect on his true inner emotions and concludes that he isn’t ready to settle down either. After several moments silence on both sides, Clint tenderly asks for Ridge’s forgiveness. They kiss and make up and both go topside to rejoin the party in progress.
The group gets home very early the next morning and sleep in till noon. Mrs. Everglade was finally able to wake up Nate and send him up to see how the rest of the guys were doing. She insisted they come down for lunch before they leave.
After cleaning up, the guys assemble inAmanda’s kitchen. She has a marvelous buffet spread out for them. They dive in with hefty appetites. Amazing how much food a small herd of ravenous young males can devour in a short time.
Later, Amanda asks Clint into her office. She asks as a favor for him to stop off in Oklahoma City at her B&B there for a night or two to check up on her two sons, Simon and Sean. They have closed the doors while remodeling the complex and are nearly ready to reopen for business. She wants Cliff and crew to stay there and give her their impressions of the remodeling job. To sweeten the deal, she wants Cliff to understand that they are to stay there gratis, even though Cliff tries to insist on paying her something. Amanda calls up her boys and makes the arrangements and seems pleased when she hangs up the phone.
The guys load up the Vette and bid Amanda and Nate farewell, after many thanks for their splendid hospitality. Joey and Nate give each other a good big hug. Joey gets embarrassed when Nate gives him a goodbye kiss on the lips, which makes Joey giggle almost uncontrollably. They swear to keep in touch with each other.
So its another tank of gas and ‘back on the road again’! They drive as far as Kansas and pull off at a quaint looking old gas station and decide to take a little break to stretch their legs and look around. Its Sunday and several of the local men folk have congregated down at the filling station after Sunday services where they swap stories of the previous week and see what old highway 66 might bring their way.
Joey is still a bit shy and stays near the vehicles, but Clint and Ridge strike up converations right away with a couple of the locals. They learn a lot about the area and in a very short while have made some new friends. The owner of the station, Harold Slater, joins in on the jam session and finds these young guys remind him a lot of his own sons that are either away at college or stationed in Afghanistan.
He finds them so interesting, he calls his wife, Greta, and asks if she has enough grub for three more hungry mouths. She assures Harold she has plenty. She always cooks up a storm on a Sunday. She just can’t help herself after having raised a house full of hungry kids, now moved on to lives of their own. Our travelers are greatly surprised by the invitation and protest that they couldn’t impose, but Harold is very persuasive and soon talks them into joining he and his wife for Sunday dinner. His two station attendants accept a standing invitations for supper. Three of the other gossipers accept an invitation too. Guess the supper table will be full tonight!

Great scene, wonderful old gas station filled with great old cars. The guys are certainly having a great time and making many new friends along the way. A tribute to their wonderful natures. What good luck for them to get their next stop for free. Luck just follows some people, good karma I guess. Wonderful continuing story and scenes.
