Description
Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day, is Canada's national day, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the 1 July 1867 enactment of the British North America Act, which united two British colonies and a province of the British Empire into a single country called Canada. It is frequently referred to as "Canada's birthday”. Part of the celebration, is for the military contingent, from the Quebec Citadel, to march down through the streets of old Quebec City. A very festive day.
Taken with my old Pentax film camera, in the late 1980s, and later scanned.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments.

Really fantastic shot! Those uniforms are so VIVID!
beautiful uniforms and capture
nice shot...
Late 80's ? Looks very fresh and actual, very nice capture.
Nice old catch! They're mostly in step too!
Reminds me of my 5 years in Montréal during the 1970's. We had the Royal Highlands Black Watch parading in their kilts and bag pipes. Really festive. Thanks for sharing and bringing up the pleasant memories.
fantastic capture!
Wonderful capture.
belle photo!!
Wonderful capture!
Great photo! Can't believe it was taken in the 80's! Very vibrant and sharp! Those uniforms just look so smart...although I know those bear hats weigh a TON!
Thought you were back in London. I had a Pentax in the days of film...outstanding camera!
Superb capture of a grand parade.
Pentax was good! shoud scann my old pic's to... historical shot, the cars are last season:)
Great capture, could be London!!!!
superb image, cool shot!
Splendid POV employed to capture the colorful marchers as they paraded proudly by in lock step, Dana. It's a wonder they can see anything from under those huge busby hats. I had a Pentax back then, purchased in 1983, but sold under the Sears label. Took tons of fotos with it.
Absolutely gorgeous photo Dana, excellent shot, congratulations!
all walking in line and step. wonderful shot
My Homeland ;-) Sweet shot Sir
Wonderful shot! That looks like a beautiful place. I have never been there. Lovely!
I would love to visit during such festivities. Human customs always fascinate me, especially when enormous hats are involved! I love the brilliant reds in this and the sense of pomp and solemnity as well. There's so much to like in this photo.
Amazing!
Fascinating picture !
Great capture! Sorry but thier head dress always makes me giggle. ;D
Very cool image!!
The Queen would be proud to see bearskins being worn by troops other than those who guard her palace! Good scanned image Dana, you and your Pentax caught the action well.
Excellent photo , Dana ! (In those years I had a Pentax KX. Used to transition to digital)
