Description
Our camgrounds at Fort Worden State Park. The bluff is known as Artillery Hill. Had it been windy, the hill would have provided a nice windbreak against ocean breezes.
The Rental RV (Recreational Vehicle) in the lower left image was our home away from home. Kind of thrilling to drive something 10 feet wide with the mirrors out and 30 feet long.
These campsites are just off to the right/west of the beach in my last post, "This is an Army Post?" (See directly below)

if my situation was to change, I more than likely would be in a motor home and no more house.beautiful park and shots
I would go back to that campground in a heartbeat. Such a beautiful and relaxing place! I'd love to hike up to the barracks level and just wander up and down the drives, looking at the buildings, speculating on the history. Maybe on a nice warm day it would be good to stretch out on top of Battery Kinzie and bask in the sun. Ahhhhh ... :) I'd heard so many wonderful things about Fort Worden, and it was nice to discover it was all that and more!
That's a great looking rental and a nice area to camp in. Super collage. Dana
Talk about a room with a view--wow!!
Great shots!
Beautiful country. Looks like a great camp ground. I have only traveled by RV once.. still do not know what to think of it. I kind of like my tent.
WOW! This is nice! It's funny, when I was in Prague, there was an RV park there, right along the Vltava River and I was wandering around with Pavl (as was common) and he pointed and said: "Look. Dutch people!" So now whenever I see RVs, I imagine that there must be Dutch vacationers in the area. Funny how associations work like that. I'd love to be there; it looks like a fantastic spot for unwinding, wandering around with cameras, and maybe enjoying a bit of stargazing at night. Hmmm...stargazing. The Leonid Meteor shower is coming up soon. What a place to see it! I also like Helle's use of the word "autocamper." I love little tidbits like that.
I guess that is a nice way to go. How was the gas mileage?
I've seen three days ago in Knoxville area a burnt RV, kinda a new model... dangerous things, eh? Cool shots, Bill... I like the collage!
Boy I tell ya what.... If I ever hit the lotto, I'm getting my cabin on wheels onto that long dark ribbon and start exploring all sorts of sweet places like this! It's fun taking home along with you on the trip! ;-D LOL
I like RV's, but I always wanted one of those with walls that slide out and make it literally as big as a house. If you are going to camp around coastal defences...maybe a bit of cammo paint and a scrim net ? :)
Iv always wanted to do an RV trip, Awesome place and shot!
