Description
These old pilings are alongside the Snohomish River in Washington State.
I have no idea how to tell how many years these have been there. Feel free to imagine anything you like! They're most likely left over from the old lumber mill days. One mill is still in operation, right across the river from where I took this photograph.

Traces of the past... Great photo.
I looked at an old, old picture of Snohomish when all the mills were working. They stood shoulder to shoulder along this river bank. Glad you found a few old remnants for us to contemplate how things used to be. I was going to say in the good old days, but as rough as life was 100 years ago, I can't say, "good old days" and mean it. Anyway, fine composition tk...like your style:)
I see old posts and piles all along Humboldt Bay just like this. I'm sure they would have stories to tell. Wonderful shot, and I love what you did to it!!

Perhaps these old pilings once received logs from the Snoqualmie Falls area. Wonderful image, really fires the imagination. You didn't run into any ghosts while you were there did you?

Beautiful capture! We have so many of these all over the waters here, and they're so beautiful; I love when they start sprouting whatever seeds blew into their crevices. They make a perfect solid foil for the mutable waters!
