Description
I have placed an image of this shipwreck after our visit last year too. That one was taken in much stormier seas.
She was sold as scrap metal and being towed to her new home when she broke lose in a storm and found her last resting place here - a couple of kilometers south of Henties Bay in Namibia.
I must admit - she didn't really look worse for wear after a year. I tried to combine the image of her with the interesting sand patterns of the two toned beach sand!
Thank you for your valued comments and favs on my upload "Something" of yesterday!
Stay well!
Hugs, Carin xx

Great capture(s) of the ship and the sand
You did a great job of giving us the whole picture here!!
Fascinating! and I'm realising that other folks' sand is not the same as mine.. Yours is light grey, Marilyns is black or dark brown...ours is what I've always called SAND coloured!LOL!
:o) :o) Ours too Andrea!!!! Lovely capture of this wreck, looks so lonely. I am so enjoying your holiday!!!!!
The Internet is a wonderful thing. Your trip peaked my curiosity enough to discover you were on the Skeleton Coast. Great capture and interesting sand patterns. Something romantic about a ship headed for the scrap heap breaking free to find her last rest in the sea.
The sandy patterns in the foreground make this shot for me...beautiful!
What a fantastic shot. I love that you have all the sand included in this beautiful shot.
La migliore fine per la nave ! Un agrande occasione per una bella foto !! The best end for the ship! A great opportunity for a nice photo!
Great looking picture! Bad for that boat, but its a cool looking shot. Nice work.
A great job!
Fantastic capture! I love the way the beach looks there, stunning! Maybe it's a ghost-ship. ;)
The inclusion of the foreground was a very good idea – great depth and location given to the composition. Very well done, Clive
I really like this shot. If I was a younger man I would be swimming out there to board it and look around. LOL. Love the composition you did in this.
great snap!
Super shot love the composition,The boat looks a bit like I feel sometimes.
This could make a wonderful photostory to visit every year. In 20 years it will definitely look different and in 40 or so may be gone altogether
spectacular capture superb image!!
A beautiful composition! Makes me want to be there.
Ooo, yes...the foreground adds interest to this foresaken old wreck. Great composition. This is really "something".
Excellent job with the compo! Like all things gone to seed, this shipwreck fascinates me.
Wonderful shot!
Superb capture and composition Carin.
The depth is really stellar! My eye finds detail, texture, color and space ... i really love the feel and mood. My heart broke over seeing this wreck... Excellent emotion - at least for me.
Others have said it so I'll just repeat when I say that the depth in this image is superb, as is the contrast of the submerged sand texture and the listing old wreck in the distance. How wonderful! I have yet to see an actual, real-live shipwreck, and I want to. This is fantastic!
Very good shot.
xlt shot
ooohhh......whats gng to happen thr.?great catch......
The sand effect, with the tide drawing it away, is quick stunning.. A lovely shot overall.. I just hope they don't leave it there.. Because the pollution that will come from it, (rust, oil, etc..) will harm the beautiful area.. and you would not want that... great shot otherwise.. Rob
Great capture, fantastic composition!!!!
great capture! :)
