Description
The Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas or Galway Cathedral
Construction began in 1958 on the site of the old city jail, so it is modern by most standards, despite much controversy where the Bishop was accused of spending too much money on it rather than the poor, the interior is rather beautiful..
The website appeared to be down yesterday so will try and catch up later.. Thanks for taking time to view and any comments etc you care to make

wonderful shot...i remember Galway in the 1980s, but I think today it's very different!
I am in awe of the beauty and architecture of some churches.this one is awesome
Stunning and appears to be HDRI. The chapel at St. Mary's College here in Leavenworth, KS is very similar...although probably smaller and less ornate but when it was built (date?) the Bishop for Kansas was resident in Leavenworth.
It is very beautiful and great DOF. Dana
Good heavens! (no pun intended) This is amazing! The depth is astounding and the clarity of the color and detail is so comforting!

A magnificent architecture, and a magnificent photo too. It is a wonder it is a wonder to view, and I love how the stained glass windows leave a rainbow effect on the brickwork within, I could look at this for ages Danny, and am in awe of the workmanship that went into creating such a breathtaking building to worship our Lord. Happy New Year dear friend, hugs Jane xx
