Description
The Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas or Galway Cathedral
Construction began in 1958 on the site of the old city jail, so it is modern by most standards, despite much controversy where the Bishop was accused of spending too much money on it rather than the poor, the interior is rather beautiful..
The website appeared to be down yesterday so will try and catch up later.. Thanks for taking time to view and any comments etc you care to make

Splendid photo Daniel.....!!! Impressive religious architecture......!!!
Beautiful capture!!
Very beautiful image and mood!
Beautiful Romanesque style. You catch it very nicely. The Cathedral of Lund, Lund, Sweden, is reputed to be the last Romanesque cathedral to be built before the Gothic style came to Europe, but here we have an even later example of that architecture. Classic small windows and round arches. Thanks for the image!
Wow, what a gorgeous cathedral and photo. CC
