Lovely country side view! What a nice drive home...a splendid new year to you Danny! Aloha~
first of all, the very fact that you look at my photography is enough for me to celebrate: I'm a beginner and have the world to learn from photographers of your quality. Your gallery for me is a school, and I've just entered the first grade...Second, that you'd fav an image is even more amazing, and I thank you for your encouragement and (too kind) words! It sure makes me want to do better, I can tell you that. As for your Wiltshire series, they are brimming with a depth and warmth that seems very etched into your soul. I still can't put words into what you do with rolling landscapes: It's something to with making the hills seem intimate, that no matter how vast the landscape may be, you still make it intimate, a gift of some kind, something touchable and 'hold'able. Then there's the rich sense of hue & light: Your landscapes glow, though gently. Lots of yellow & reddish undertones in this green landscape; and the brown plowed land glows. And then there's your composition, a road cutting through the right side as balance to the rolling hills, and something that takes us out of the shot and makes us feel the world beyond it. And your proportions too, of sky to land---which of course brings us to the sky. It's big & powerful but it's gentle and 'mothering'. Fleece-like sky. I live in a huge city and when I see shots like this, I want to get into the country quickly. I'm moving in that direction, but these country shots make me want to do it faster. Beautiful work & touching too. You do your homeland proud, pure & simple.
Love the wide open space and the perspective on the long road home, a most impressive photograph, My Friend.
Master work ful of inspiration.
