Description

Another shot from Gold Hill the most famous street in Shaftesbury in Dorsset, a town full of quaint corners and superb views on the edge of a 700-foot plateau. This ancient cobbled street, running beside the walls of King Alfred’s abbey which sad to say very little of this remains.

Danny, I feel I need never go to this place - a place I see in my dreams and feel in my heart - because you have taken me there with all the richness I could feel had I stood where you did to create this magical shot.

I love the tone of this photo - it makes it look antiquated. Excellent photo all the better for there being no people in it. It is like something out of a fairy tale.

Wow Danny this is amazing, just like something you see in a jigsaw or biscuit tin lid or fairy tale story book, you have really captured the essence of this village my friend I almost expect to see a character dressed like robin hood or that era come out of one of those house doors... Top Job on this...

A photo of immense beauty, which reminds me of the detailed description of English villages in 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'(by Thomas Hardy)...Outstanding photography, as always, Danny!
