Description
Captured back on 4/20/09, early in the AM, at a park within walking distance of my honored haven.
I was going to post some of my ever popular taillights this time around, but since it's been so warm locally -- up to the mid 80s fahrenheit -- I thought I would toss these in just to quench the thirst. Projections do show it cooling down over the coming week.
Since rain is a rarity around here, sprinkler systems are used extensively to keep the flora up to par. Virtually all of my water droplet covered rose shots are a result of this process.
Picture #2 shows a malfunctioning sprinkler, resulting in plenty of water for the sidewalk and adjoining street.
Check it out full size for keen water drop spray coverage.
Toodles, and thankx for looking in.

I will send our cold weather to you. I don't want it. I don't remember a year were I had to pull out the winter jacket in August.
Water does look refreshing to me....it's been so HOT here also. Finally a cool off this week. Nice work.
great collage...
Thanks for the spray Harry. I feel very refreshed:) Taillights can wait...timing this for today was just right. It was very pleasant here today...shirt sleeve weather. In celebration of being warm and since I now feel so good...I raked up the entire front yard. Haven't been able to do that for 5-10 years. I am getting younger:) Oh, and a fine collage filled with colorful, sharp photo images of your sunny California neighborhood.
Lovely and fresh! Great idea and execution Harry! :)
They look great in the sun!
did a wonderful job on this . i like the sun on the water like this
Oh I like these shots, Harry, they have a wodnerful feeling of summer and heeat, and I like the second one, with the malfunctioning sprinkler which seems to poke its watertongue out at the others working properly...smile
so refreshing.. a great collage. :)
We've been having beautiful weather here at last. Great shots! I love the unruly # 2.
Completely amazing water capyures! Well done, Harry!! Brilliant work, wet knees all round! lol Rob
I thought, when I saw this the first time, that if I had to pick 20 shots that represented your range, this would be one of them. This would be one among many because it's something we pass everyday, in which you found the sheer delight of light and how it plays off of life on earth. Each shot is different: In fact you seem to move through different views—the first, more of a 'presentation' with a clear park sign & clean composition; then that crazy malfunction (glad you included it!); then, the third where the light starts to take over in maybe the most beautiful composition of the bunch (in light & texture as well as in objects); and the fourth which looks like someone has landed from the sun: The light in the water of that shot is intense! Lots of fun, but also a beautiful capture of spray & the giddy energies it produces. A 'harry' piece if ever there was one (even though there are many types of harry pieces), delighting in the lights & textures all around us, and finding strange & new worlds in the process. Fine sequence. If there were a fifth, I'd expect some martians to pop out and say, "well! That was refreshing!"
