Description
Captured 10/1/09, early in the AM, about 2 miles/3.22 kilometers away from what I call home.
Hate to pull you away from my run of fire hydrants, that everyone loves (not!), but felt it was about time to balance the books at this juncture.
Picture #3 shows the opposite side of #1 and #2.
Strange, but this was the only frond of this type for literally blocks. No other flora even resembling this could be seen in the area.
Ta-ta, and thankx for popping in.

Totally cool, super interesting Very cool
Lovely photography here, and they really do look like beautiful fans. great captures Harry, hugs Jane xx
Wonder if our ancestors took a look at these and then invented the hand fan..nice color and lighting here....
I can remember trying to split the leaves of these when I was little, cruel huh?? Great game today!!!! got that Dodger cap on??
We didn't just split them - we made lots of woven things from them (every Palm Sunday) Lovely to view as they radiate outward and create lines and shadows.
The various palm fronds make for great pics. Very well done collage.
Very very cool shots. They are so interesting looking.
A quick glance at the thumbnail for this and I thought of fireworks. Crisp, sharp and clear! Also makes me think of Palm Sunday... Good one Sir!
Fantastic colors and light. Excellent collage!
It reminds me of those elegant ladies in the 1800's and early 1900's with their puffy dresses and beautiful fans always present. It swear it had probably nothing to do with keeping them cool but was more a fashion statement. Lovely palm frond Harry - they do look healthy! :)
Wonderful Work!!!!
Interesting pics!
I've always liked fan fronds. I like looking down them with the convergent point farthest away, so #3 is my fav. Great captures!
Very impressive...You've caught the lighting just right on them. Cool looking.. Rob
