---------------------
The Plymouth Prowler is a "retro" styled production car built in 1997 and 1999-2002. The Prowler was based on the 1993 concept car of the same name.
The design of the Prowler was said to have been inspired after Chrysler engineers were given free rein to create whatever they wanted in a "hot rod" or "sportster" type vehicle. One of the most striking design features of the Prowler are the open, Indy racer style front wheels.
The Prowler featured a powertrain lifted from Chrysler's LH-cars, a 3.5L SOHC V6 producing 214 horsepower (160 kW). For the 1999 model year the engine was replaced with a more powerful 253 hp (189 kW) version of the engine. Both engines were coupled to a 4-speed Autostick automatic transmission. The transmission is located at the rear of the vehicle and joined to the engine by a flexible driveshaft that rotates at engine speed, an arrangement similar to that used by the C5 Corvette and Alfa Romeo 75, and helped to facilitate a desirable 50-50 front-rear weight distribution. The Prowler was the first rear-wheel drive Plymouth since the 1989 Plymouth Gran Fury.
The car prominently featured aluminum in its construction, chiefly in the chassis. In many cases, the components were adhesively bonded. The body was produced in Shadyside, Ohio, and the car was assembled by hand at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant (CAAP) in Detroit, Michigan.

Incidentally, I saw a beautiful black Prowler at another mall last Friday, but, unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me. A lesson sadly learned.
Ta-ta, and thankx for coming by.

Would ya look at the face on THAT machine?? It looks like it's prowling when it's holding still. Would love to take a spin, that's for sure. Gorgeous shots of it, Harry. Yes, it seems we always see possible photos - camera or not. Good luck prowling for the next one. :-)
Totally interesting and very cool image....really!! To cool:-)
Nice work my friend has an orange one and it goes really fast ,,great photos
Nice collage. I just love the retro hot rod style of the Prowler and often thought I'd love to drive one, until I had the opportunity to sit in one at a local dealership. I'm 6'4" tall and I couldn't see to the end of the bonnet or where the front wheels were... which I found a little disconcerting! That said it's still a great car and all credit to the Chrysler team who dared to produce it and give us all big grins!
great photos...
That's one cool car! Very nice collage.

No wonder they call them hot rods. HOT car!!! so... do you think there is a freeway series in our future???
LOL @ Jodie... It does have a "face" only a mother can love. Interesting set of wheels Harry! :)
Wonderful frontal view! Does look like a rather devious face! Great collage!

Very mean looking car, great info too. Nice shots.
While is colour reminds me of a banana on wheels, I have to confess that that is cool looking set of wheels that I have never seen before... I have no doubt Miss Rain, would like it... :-) Very cool, Harry... Rob
To bad both the Prowler and the Plymouth brand have disappeared.. I have good memories regarding a 49 model I owned..so many years ago..
Great captures O'lboy, I love how the yellow dominates the scenes.
