Description
This is the Redwood Highway, part of US 101, about 50 south of home for me. I know the road like the back of my hand, but it never ceases to amaze me that I live so close to these glorious giants!!

And glorious they are. Somewhere I have old snapshots of us as a young family hiking along the trails in Muir Woods north of San Francisco. That was a memorable experience...to think that some of those trees date back to the time of Christ! Amazing.
Those trees rules this land. Excellent shot. Aloha
What a great shot! You must have been out driving with someone. :P
I have several shots of our cut off on 101 but none so nicely done as this!
Oooh, nice, moody color! I'm really glad to see this, even though I have to log off in a minute. But what better way to finish the night. this is fantastic work
Incredible view Marilyn... and the color treatment adds to the drama for sure! I am fascinated by Redwoods and would love to one day spend some time in a Redwood forest in your gorgeous country!! Bravo dear friend!!! :)
I always feel uneasy when I'm 'in' a pic on this side of the road! Your postwork accurately relects my fear!
i feel like i am looking out of the back window ... us brits drive on the other side..:)
I'm glad to see and hear that there are still so many of them around. The timbering moguls haven't cut these down I see.
We drive on the left side of the road I can relate to Andrea there lol! fabulous capture.
LOL Arthur, we have lost that argument mate, I just say we drive on the "Right" side of the road even if it is on the "Left" :)...Top shot maz, love the warm glow here.
What a lovely capture; tell the truth, were you driving at the time? tee hee....
fantastic picture!
I love this area. The redwoods are so magnificient. Great shot - someone else WAS driving, right?
It's a long way to Tipperary, It's a long way to go. It's a long way to Tipperary To the sweetest girl I know! Goodbye Piccadilly, Farewell Leicester Square! It's a long long way to Tipperary, But my heart's right there. Stellar capture of the smooth paved road as it glides its way through the forest of redwoods, Missy Maz!
great shot!

sweet capture warm hugs, Linda
lovely shot and colors x
Long winding roads always make me feel very poetic. there is something beautiful about them and the feeling the give me. wonderful capture
nice shot
I went right into the winding road and on around the corner ! ! ! ! !
your coloration is beautiful, you made this into a dream vision, and the reds & greens are almost Impressionist in the way they create contrasts. Plus, the yellows of your taller trees give it a strange sense of luminous dreaminess. It's always nice when an artist re-interprets their home to make it look as if it came straight from within them. This is beautiful, Marilyn. A very inward shot.
