Description
A fern frond from the Arboretum's fern garden. Pale green and purple? Who would ever have thought of that? Denise has a lovely shot of the whole plant in her gallery. It was pretty spectacular to see this in person!

Wow! great shot! looks very interesting
This is a truly gorgeous fern--I never knew they existed in colors anything like this---wow!!
Wow. I love the contrast Tara. The dark background brings out the detail in the fern to its fullest.
Superb capture. Nice light and colours..
It is such a lovely shot with all its details. Superb Tara.
This is amazing. I've seen some pretty outrageous ferns, but none like this one! I love the light and the details. I'd love to see one of these in person! This is a great capture, and it really should be seen zoomed. There's a shift in the light when you're able to see it in all of its alien, purple-and-dusty green glory.
A striking compo (of course! how could you produce otherwise!) and a lovely clear close-up of this beauty.
Wonderful capture!!
Only nature :) Beautiful shot!
excellent light
Did you checked for spores? Wonderful unique kind of fern. I am always happy to see my fav plant.
nice image..very pretty fern
I was wowed by Denise's image and now equally wowed by yours! It is most unusual and who could have ever thought that a palm frond could make such an amazing image! Well done my friend!! Dankie vir lekker gesels gister! Dit was goed om op te vang!!! Ek het jou lief! Blaas 'n druk en soen!
A superb capture!
Lovely texture and pattern. It is very unusual...I'd best not show the wife this one, I'll end up looking for one to put in our garden!
Pale is not usually your thing. But, yes...it does look much more striking when zoomed. Light, color, form and texture (your main stays) are all right there. Super:)
Fantastic image!!!
Tara the detail is perfect and the background is just that. Very nice shot!
wonderful shot
With fronds like this who needs anemones :)
wonderful picture!!!
Wow! If mine looked like this I would most probably throw it out thinking it had some sort of disease!!! Seriously though, a wonderful capture. @PD154 - brilliant sir!! :)
Oh, this is fantastic, I didn't see you get this shot!
Way cool, I love the colors and the lighting. Great shot Tara.
they are really pretty in these shades ..just like my black pansy, I have never seen these in this colour ~ wonderful shot
wonderful fern!!! Great photo!
It is very pretty; I love ferns! I love the lighting and dark background.. makes for a striking shot!
beautiful capture and find, looks albino lol.
I'm fond of fronds. Stellar composition of the fern in this shot. The photo virtually looks to have been inverted/reversed.
This is fantastic. No postwork? Nature is weird! There are some things like this in Florida, but you have to go way into the backwoods to see them. Perfect capture, and I didn't think ferns came in some color other than green.
